ClaimCam ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ClaimCam (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: When you sign in with Apple, we collect your name and email address (which may be a private relay email if you choose).
  • Job and Claim Data: Claim numbers, insured names, addresses, dates of loss, and notes you enter for insurance jobs.
  • Photos: Images you capture using the App for claim documentation.
  • Audio Data: Short audio recordings (3-7 seconds) for voice-to-text labeling. Audio is processed on-device and not permanently stored; only the text transcript is saved.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Location Data: Precise GPS coordinates when you capture photos or use the "Find Address" feature. Location data is only collected when you grant permission and is embedded in photo EXIF metadata.
  • Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and app version.
  • Usage Data: Information about how you use the App, including feature interactions, timestamps, and workflow patterns via Firebase Analytics.
  • Crash and Performance Data: Diagnostic information via Firebase Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring to identify and fix bugs.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide App Functionality: Enable photo capture, voice labeling, job management, cloud sync, and export generation.
  • Improve the App: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and user experience.
  • Customer Support: Respond to your inquiries and troubleshoot issues.
  • Security: Protect against fraud, unauthorized access, and security threats.
  • Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws and regulations.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your information with:

3.1 Service Providers

  • Firebase (Google): For authentication, cloud storage, analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring. Firebase Privacy Policy

3.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

  • Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses TLS 1.2+ encryption.
  • Encryption at Rest: Sensitive fields (labels, transcripts) are encrypted using AES-GCM 256-bit encryption.
  • Cloud Storage: Photos stored in Firebase Cloud Storage use Google-managed encryption.
  • Keychain Storage: Encryption keys are stored in iOS Keychain secured with biometric authentication.
  • Access Controls: Firestore security rules restrict data access to authorized users only.

5. Data Retention

5.1 Local Device Storage

  • Photos and jobs are stored locally until you delete them.
  • Settings are stored until you uninstall the App.

5.2 Cloud Storage

  • Photos and jobs are stored in Firebase until you delete them or deactivate your account.
  • Analytics data is aggregated and retained for 14 months (Firebase default).
  • Crash logs are retained for 90 days (Firebase Crashlytics default).

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Access and Control

  • View Your Data: Access your jobs, photos, and settings within the App.
  • Edit Your Data: Modify job details, labels, and settings at any time.
  • Delete Your Data: Delete individual photos, jobs, or your entire account via Settings → Deactivate Account.

6.2 Permissions

  • Location: You can deny location permission in iOS Settings. The App will still function; you can enter addresses manually.
  • Microphone: You can deny microphone permission in iOS Settings. The App will still function; you can enter labels manually.
  • Camera: Required for core functionality. You can deny permission, but photo capture will not work.

6.3 Account Deletion

To delete your account and all associated data:

  1. Open the App and go to Settings.
  2. Tap "Deactivate Account" and confirm.
  3. All Firestore data is deleted immediately.
  4. Cloud Storage photos are deleted within 24 hours.
  5. Analytics data is anonymized (user ID removed).

7. Children's Privacy

ClaimCam is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at claimcam@hunersapps.com.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, where our servers and service providers are located. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

9. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights:

  • Right to Know: Request disclosure of personal information we collect, use, and share.
  • Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell your personal information.
  • Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

10. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights:

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
  • Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.

  • Right to Restrict Processing: Request limitation of data processing.
  • Right to Data Portability: Request transfer of your data to another service.
  • Right to Object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.

11. Tracking and Do Not Track

ClaimCam does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not use data for targeted advertising or share data with data brokers. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals because we do not track users.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

  • Posting the updated policy in the App and on our website.
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
  • Sending an in-app notification or email (for significant changes).

Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
